Kinley 16 months

Here are some pictures of what Kinley has been up to lately!  Nana and Bapa did a great job taking care of her while we were in the hospital and recovering!  They took her on lots of walks, took her to her Clamber Club classes, and played nonstop with her!  She sure is going to miss having them around.

Several of the shopping centers have restaurants with outdoor seating and places for the kids to play.  Here she is playing in a water fountain and then on a rocking giraffe. 

And last but not least, Nana and Bapa taught Kinley to do the OU motions!  Too bad we didnt get a video cause it is adorable to see her put her hands above her head in an "O" shape and then throw them out into a "U"!  Too bad her cheering didnt help them out this weekend against Notre Dame.

7 lbs  20 inches

We were shocked when he was born because he had blonde eyelashes and eyebrows that you can barely see!  And the front of his hair is very light!  Dont know where that came from.  His eyes are blue like all babies, but they are lighter than Kinley's were, so my fingers are still crossed that he will inherit Lee's beautiful blues!

 His first introduction to Kinley was a success!  She is going to be a great big sister.  She loves to give him kisses and wants to hold him, but only for about 5 seconds.  Then it is on to the next thing!  She says "baby" everytime she sees him.  And when he is not in the room she notices and asks where he is!  She also doesnt like for him to cry and freaks out when he pee's while I am changing his diaper.  When that happens, she cries for some reason!  Maybe its because I scream! :)

Nana and Bapa brought Kinley to the hospital every day to see us.  Her favorite thing was to play in the closet!

 We are so grateful to have Turner as an addition to our family!  He is such a cutie and loves to cuddle.  His favorite thing is sleeping, which helps his mommy out a lot!  We cant wait to introduce him to all of our family and friends when we come home in a few weeks.

Kinley- 15 months

 Once again, the time has flown by and our little baby has grown up into a toddler!  Here are some cute pics of her in the last month.

First pigtails!

 We got invited to go water skiing with our friends the Stanley's.  Unfortunately, the day we went was quite cold and the water was FREEZING!  But Kinley was determined that she wanted in that water.  You can tell by her face in this pic, it didnt last long!  She quickly realized it was freezing and that adventure lasted about 3 seconds.  Thanks to Liz for gearing up in the wetsuit just to satisfy Kinley's urge!

 I am sure when Kinley gets older she will love that I shared this with the world... Her new thing is to hide her face when she poops!  It is actually really cute!  I caught her in the act the other day and had to snap a pic!

 Most of you know that we had to get rid of Rugby. :(  We took her to her new home on Sunday night and it has been pretty sad.  So this is the last pic we have of the two of them together.

 Such a good little helper!!  We were cleaning Lee's car yesterday and she had way too much fun with the bubbles and dirty puddles of water!  But she was a great little cleaner!  She even decided she was going to clean her "ride".

Embarrassing!

 This is an embarrassing post!  Our housekeeper Magdeline brought over a bunch of traditional African clothes because she wanted me to wear it and take pictures!  Why did she wait until I was 9 months pregnant to do this?  They are so bad that they should be kept hidden.  But oh well... let the laughing begin!

The first outfit is a Zulu outfit.  She is not Zulu, but loves the culture, so she has the clothes.  And no, I am not doing some cool dance in this picture.  I am trying to show off the awesome beaded shoes!!

 Kinley joined in the action by wearing a headband but she wasnt interested in posing for a picture.  And Lee got to wear a sweet beaded Zulu tie!

 The next outfit is from the Tswana tribe, which Magdeline actually comes from.  The guy who is pictured on the sarong is the current Tswana King!

Babymoon 2012

 I dont think we ever thought we would be going on a Babymoon 2012, but here we are!  We decided to take advantage of the long Labor Day weekend and went up north, almost to Botswana to Madikwe Game Reserve.  It is supposed to be one of the premiere reserves in SA and we found a great deal, so we left Kinley with Magdeline and headed out!

We stayed at the only lodge in the park that is not fenced in.  So when they showed us to our chalet, we were so excited to see that we were situated right next to a watering hole and there were tons of elephants hanging out there.  What a welcome!  We were told that we were not allowed to go to our rooms by ourselves at night.  We had to be escorted by our guide with a rifle, just in case there were animals lurking about!!

We were really excited to have Patrick and Holiday as our guides.  Patrick has been a tracker for 28 years and just became a driver last year.  And Holiday has been tracking for 22 years.  So between the two of them, we didnt miss anything within miles.  They would spot things and call things out and then about 3 minutes later I would see them!  We spent a good amount of time tracking a leopard, but never saw him :(

We came across a rare sighting of a Caracal.  We were driving in the middle of nowhere with fields all around us and all of the sudden Holiday yells something out to Patrick.  He drives off into the bush and about 75+ yards deep in the bush, camoflauged with the dead grass is this male caracal!  They said they are so rare that they were even excited to see it.

 We came across this Waterbuck that had been dragged high into this tree by a leopard.  How in the world they get them up there is unbelievable!

 The first night we had dinner in an outside area with the rest of the people staying at the lodge.  We had our own table with Patrick (the guide).  So it was great to get to know him and hear his stories.  He is one of 2 Master Trackers in all of South Africa, so that was pretty cool.  But the second night there was only one other couple staying there and it was his birthday, so when we got back from our afternoon drive, they had set up a private dinner on our deck for us! 

 It was a really nice weekend away.  Our last "African" experience before we leave.
